On 30 June, the inaugural MICHELIN Guide New Zealand ceremony took place at NZICC in Auckland, recognising restaurants across Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown.​

Fifteen restaurants received MICHELIN Stars, including Essence at The Roki Collection in Queenstown, led by Executive Chef Paul Froggatt, which received Two MICHELIN Stars. In total, 110 restaurants were recognised in the inaugural selection, including 35 Bib Gourmand restaurants.​

New Zealand cuisine is shaped by our connection to the land, purity of flavour, and by manaakitanga, the spirit of hospitality that makes every meal here feel a little more special.​
